9th June 2008 - Free Fire Risk Assessments

Greater Manchester Fire Service are now operating a new initiative in the Manchester borough involving a new team working under the Community Fire Safety Department. The Community Safety Support Officers (Becky and Mike) are based at Withington Fire Station and will cover the whole of the Manchester South Borough.

We will be carrying out the Free Home Fire Risk Assessments including fitting smoke alarms, advising on escape plans and general fire safety in and around the home. We are trying to target specific areas which are most at risk, have had recent history of fire's in the area and vulnerable groups. If you or any of your teams working in other wards come across people who are requiring a Risk Assessment or you think would benefit from having free smoke alarms please do not hesitate to give us a call on the following numbers:
